KHANA cambodia





With co-director and cinematographer James Fleming, Propeller Pictures returned to Cambodia to create two films for KHANA to raise awareness about issues relating to HIV/AIDS. Sophat and Nasear and Bright Day were broadcast across 5 Cambodian TV channels on World AIDS Day and will be distributed to non-governmental groups throughout South East Asia.

On her Shoulders is a short film commissioned by UN Women to commemorate 100 years of International Women's Day. Co-directed by Poppy Walker, Caro Macdonald and Kylie Plunkett and produced by Andrea Foxworthy, it has screened at:

not so straight




The feature educational documentary Not So Straight reveals some seldom-heard experiences about what it means to be young and queer. Over the course of a year, the members of a support group share intimate tales of sexual awakening, forging relationships and the struggle for acceptance.
Not So Straight is a Captive Films and Propeller Pictures production, funded by the City of Melbourne and Family Planning Victoria. 

eyes wide workshops




The Clarence City Council's 'Eyes Wide' and 'Out of the Box' incentive provides workshops for teenagers in regional towns. Propeller pictures runs filmmaking afternoons, where participants make skate music videos, video diaries - and even the odd heist film!

Our Eyes, Our Stories is a short advocacy film commissioned by the Fred Hollows Foundation in conjunction with Vision 2020, Oxfam, VACCHO and NACCHO, to explore indigenous eye health issues.

Celebrated child psychologist Steve Biddulph commissioned a series of DVDs of his presentations based on his best-selling books 'The Secrets of Happy Children' and 'Raising Boys'.

darwin war museum




Poppy Walker was hired by producer Briarbird to direct four digital stories exploring the experience of survivors of Darwin's bombings early last century. Along with eight other stories, they form part of the permanent exhibition at the Darwin War Museum. 

oxfam






Oxfam Australia’s third Straight Talk summit bought 56 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women together in Canberra. Over the four-day event, the women took part in interactive workshops and activities led by a team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander female facilitators. Propeller Pictures filmed the event and conducted interviews to trace the stories of participants.

The Greens commissioned a short humorous film featuring Circus Oz performer Paul, to raise awareness of bike safety on Victorian roads. 

mindfulness at monash




Monash University is introducing mindfulness workshops for students and we teamed up with mindfulness pioneers and happy workshop attendees to produce a series of TVCs showing what it's really all about.

Incling hired Poppy Walker to direct this short tvc for new social media organisation Community Engine.

buddhism for development




Buddhism for Development is a Cambodian-based not-for-profit organisation that works closely with Cambodian communities to facilitate social cohesion and economic independence. They encourage, advise and provide services and support to Cambodians to participate in the sustainable socio-economic development of their own communities. Buddhism for Development recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary and we made a short promo with its founder, Heng Monychenda.
